Amelia Collins-Patel, MBE
Amelia was awarded an MBE last month in the Queen’s Birthday’s Honours list for her work with Children and Young People with a particular focus upon her coronavirus response.
Currently learning computer coding with the School of Code based in Birmingham, she recently finished her BA Hons degree in Theology, Mission and Ministry with a focus on children, young people and families. Amelia is currently working alongside other young people on Project Hope, a project set up to help combat youth loneliness. She is a coordinator and has been involved since the initial idea was put forward.
She began doing youth action when she was 8 years old at her primary school and her love for helping others and ensuring all voices are heard no matter their age, quickly grew to her being involved in a variety of different things. In 2018 she was nominated as an #iwill Ambassador.
Her hope for the future is to see a world where young people’s voices are heard in every area of life.
