
Jonelle Awomoyi
#iwill Ambassador, Founder of IGBI Mag & journalist
Jonelle is an #iwill Ambassador who has a commitment to storytelling to produce positive change. The former Member of Youth Parliament for Croydon and has created campaigns to improve youth mental health provisions and racial and religious discrimination.
Jonelle is now a member at the National Council of Women of GB and represented them at the UN’s 63rd Commission on the Status of Women in support of improving the rights of women around the world.
Whilst at University she was Head of News at Nottingham Student TV and produced and hosted two student-focused news shows to increase young people’s political engagement that won a National Student TV Award for Highly Commended Best News / Current Affairs Show.
Currently, she is working at BBC Current Affairs/ World Service making audio documentaries about real stories from around the world. She also founded IGBI Mag to promote storytelling within the black community.
